Harvest Time started as a live promotion in its home city of Cambridge, UK in August 2002. In its early years Harvest Time promoted such artists as Nina Nastasia, David Grubbs, Shalabi Effect, Animal Collective, Alasdair Roberts, Herman Dune and The Danielson Famile all from a couple of small venues in Cambridge. In the last 2 years Harvest Time has been concentrating on more experimental and sub-underground music and has promoted shows by artists such as Sunburned Hand of the Man, Tight Meat, Flower Corsano Duo, Jack Rose, Fursaxa, Taurpis Tula and many more besides.

Harvest Time also curates a yearly festival called Palimpsest Festival .

In March 2004, the record label Harvest Time Recordings was born. The initial idea was to release a subscription series housed in a presentation bag with beautifully packaged 7”s featuring original hand-numbered artwork. Due to this going fairly well (ok, it was just good fun there are quite a few left), a split 7" between Lionshare and Wooden Ghost was released along with some limited CDs and CDRs. Harvest Time Recordings is no longer active. All of HTR releases can be purchased here.
